How The Program Works

Leadership Iowa hosts an integrated series of eight monthly sessions in different regions of the state. The program begins in October and runs through June (the class observes a one month winter break). Most sessions begin midmorning on Thursday and end Friday afternoon. Topics typically include government, agriculture, education, healthcare, economic development and other pertinent issues facing the state of Iowa. Each session features presentations by acknowledged leaders and experts in their respective fields. In addition, a variety of other learning activities are incorporated to further leadership development.
